This module is organised into eight units that address issues of online safety and security including device and app settings as well as issues of privacy in relation to social media and online gaming. It introduces strategies for identifying and avoiding various types of malware attacks or cybercrime. It explores online copyright, creative commons and the use of other people’s work as well as plagiarism and how these relate to good digital citizenship. Positive and negative interactions with others online is a key aspect with particular emphasis on cyberbullying and being an upstander not a bystander. Online transactions and the difference between real currency and online credits and tokens are covered too.
